What You'll Do:
As a principal member of our TechOps SRE team, you will:
Collaborate closely with engineering partners to drive initiatives from design to implementation.
Manage and maintain our highly available multi-region Kubernetes environments on AWS EKS, supporting mission-critical workloads.
Lead the initiative to craft and deploy applications to the cloud, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and resilient.
Promote a DevOps mentality, establishing best practises for AWS infrastructure-as-code.
Champion automation tools to enhance software delivery and minimise risks.
What We're Looking For:
We need someone who brings:
5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS in a production environment.
Proven experience building and deploying Docker images.
Expertise in migrating applications from container orchestration solutions (like ECS) to Kubernetes, ideally on EKS.
Production experience running Kubernetes workloads, particularly on AWS EKS.
Experience managing Kubernetes Clusters and creating/deploying Helm charts.
Familiarity with Confluent or Kafka, and monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or Splunk Cloud.
Skills and Expertise:
Proficiency in UNIX operating systems and shell scripting.
Strong experience managing services in a large AWS cross-account environment.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels with excellent written and verbal skills.
A knack for seeing problems as opportunities to automate and innovate.
Proven track record of providing technical leadership to teams of Site Reliability Engineers or Cloud Engineers.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC), preferably using Terraform.
Programming experience in Python is preferred, along with familiarity with Git and the agile software development lifecycle.
