Senior Data Engineer

Our client is looking for a passionate and innovative Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge data solutions that drive business success in the office in Galway. It is a permanent role but we do have contract vacancies open as well.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement end-to-end data solutions while applying best engineering practises.
Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines to integrate data from multiple sources into OLAP data stores, ensuring data integrity.
Collaborate with data practitioners and stakeholders to troubleshoot data-related issues effectively.
Contribute to innovative solutions that improve data quality and operational efficiency.
Provide production support in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Skills:

- Extensive Experience with business intelligence, analytics, or data process improvement.
- Proficiency in relational database management (Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL).
- Extensive hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Nifi, Snaplogic).
- Expertise in data analysis, profiling, and modelling.
- Knowledge of data warehousing methodologies and ANSI SQL.
- Proficiency in Snowflake DB using Javascript, Python, and snowSQL, including the latest features.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS - IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) and data streaming tools like Kafka and Kinesis.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes, GIT, and Jenkins.
