Title: Fund Accounting Control Consultant

Role
The Alternatives Control and Training team provides oversight to the Hedge Fund Services, Private Equity & Real Estate Operations Teams including Incident and Error Management, Annual Procedure Review, Daily Rec Production oversight, Weekly Aged Reconciliation Review and associated management reporting. We also assist with onboarding new hires into the department providing training and support to hiring managers. This role requires you to maintain a strong relationship with all relevant stakeholders, internal SMEs, Team Leads and Managers, and as required, Compliance, Risk and Depository.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join a team responsible for implementing the Control framework within the department. On the Training side, we run the Knowledge Share Program, New Hire Training, Onboarding support and ad hoc training needs as required.
- Prepare reporting for and facilitate: Weekly Aged Break Review, Weekly Incident & Error Review, Monthly Reconciliation Offshore Oversight of our team in India.
- Maintain team SharePoint page and Incident & Error SharePoint site - upcoming project to migrate to SharePoint Online.
- Provide reconciliation break oversight of middle office operational teams, including aged break review, facilitating internal partner meetings to ensure risk is appropriately assessed and conveyed to Senior Management
- Act as a liaison between offshore reconciliation production teams and onshore middle and back office operational teams to identify, escalate where appropriate and resolve issues.
- Co-ordinate departmental Annual Procedure Review
- Maintain a schedule of Knowledge Share sessions and other learning modules. Facilitate if required.
Skills / Experience
The successful candidate will be able to display the following key competencies within their role:
- Previous experience of Fund Administration, while experience with Private Equity & Real Estate fund structures would be beneficial, it is not a pre-requisite.
- Knowledge of custody, fund accounting or transfer agency preferred.
- General middle office operational knowledge with strong understanding of reconciliations
- Power BI, Power Automate strongly favoured.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Influence internal teams to achieve optimal client outcomes.
- A continuous improvement, growth mindset favoured.
- Strong risk and control mentality
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Confidence in presenting on camera and in person, or willing to learn this skill.
- Time management, ability to identify and prioritise appropriately.
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred.
